Magnetic and Physical Property Measurement

The MPMS-XL employs SQUID technology for sensitivity down to 10-8 emu over a wide field and temperature range. This system is primarily used for the AC susceptibility (ACMS) option. Many materials display dissipative mechanisms when exposed to an oscillating field.

MPMS sample magnetometers use SQUID technology to achieve high sensitivity, dynamic range and reproducibility. The MPMS can resolve magnetic moment changes as small as 10-8 emu over a wide range of temperatures and fields.


The PPMS is an open architecture system which is able to perform a number of automated measurements over a standard temperature range of 400-1.8K. The LCN system is equipped with a 14T longitudinal magnet and the ability to cool down to 0.35K using a helium 3 probe.
