The London Centre for Nanotechnology, LCN, is a multi-disciplinary enterprise operating at the forefront of science and technology. Research within LCN encompasses a wide range of subjects including quantum computing, bio-nanotechnology, materials modelling, novel electronic devices, superconductivity, quantum and bio-magnetism, nanoscale imaging, nanofluids, energy and the environment, nanomaterials fabrication and processing, strongly correlated electron systems, etc.

The UCL Materials Simulation Laboratory is pleased to announce that the second annual MSL workshop; 'Accessing large length and time scales with accurate quantum methods' will take place in London on the 12th - 13th January 2009.
The two-day workshop has been organised to celebrate the career and 65th birthday of Professor Mike Gillan, Professor of Physics and Director of the Materials Simulation Laboratory at UCL, and recipient of the 2006 Institute of Physics Dirac Medal for outstanding contributions to Theoretical Physics.
