Professor Sir Michael Pepper elected to the Academia Europaea

Professor Sir Michael Pepper has been elected as a Member of the Academia Europaea.

The Academia Europaea is a functioning European Academy of Humanities, Letters and Sciences, composed of scientists and scholars who collectively aim to promote learning, education and research.

Membership is by invitation only and this is made only after peer group nomination, scrutiny and confirmation as to the scholarship and eminence of the individual in their chosen field. Election is then confirmed by the Council of the Academia.

The Academy consists of around 2300 members from across Europe and includes thirty-eight Nobel Laureates, several of whom were elected to the Academia before they received the prize.
