Professor Rachel McKendry recently spoke to Deutsche Welle, Germany's international broadcaster about the her research into mobile phone and web-tracking technologies to curb the spread of the next potentially massive deadly disease outbreak. With EPSRC funding for a major new Interdisciplinary Research Centre, these 21st century technologies will create an early-warning sensing system for infectious diseases. Dr John Brownstein from Harvard Medical School also speaks about his pioneering initiative Healthmap.org.
