Professor Chunli Bai, recently appointed President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, visited the London Centre of Nanotechnology this month as part of UCL’s China Research Day 2012.
Professor Bai’s most recent research focus is on both scanning tunnelling microscopy and molecular nanotechnology and he was given a tour around the LCN’s cleanroom as part of his visit to learn more about research happening within this facility.
Following his visit, Professor Bai was awarded a UCL Doctor of Science degree (honoris casua), following which he presented an address: Progress and Prospective: Science, Technology and Innovation in China.
