Recent recruit to the London Centre for Nanotechnology, researcher Dr John Morton, will this week be part of a team of scientists making an appearance at the Royal Society Summer Exhibition – a showcase of the most exciting, cutting-edge science and technology research.

The exhibition runs from the 3rd - 8th July at Carlton House Terrace in Central London and provides a unique opportunity for members of the public to interact with scientists and ask them questions about their work.

This year the LCN is working with researchers within the Departments of Materials and Physics at the University of Oxford, and the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at UCL to present “Quantum of Spin”.

This exhibit shows the intersection between our everyday experiences of magnetism and the fascinating 'weirdness' of quantum mechanics. The scientists behind the exhibit will provide intuitive explanations of how current technologies work as well insights into what the future holds for quantum technologies based on spin.

This event is open to all and is free to attend – see here for more event information.
