Professor George Christou of University of Florida has been appointed as an Honorary Professor at the London Centre for Nanotechnology. The appointment of Professor Christou follows his growing association with LCN in recent years, particularly in the study of magnetic nanomaterials. His research involves the synthesis and characterisation of molecules capable of functioning as molecular nanomagnets, and detailed study of their classical and quantum magnetism properties.
The appointment began effectively in October 2007, and is for an indefinite period.
George Christou is the Drago Professor of Chemistry at University of Florida where he has been since the summer of 2001. He was previously at Indiana University.
