Article on a swipe-card model of the sense of smell published in Physical Review LettersA team of UCL researchers at the London Centre for Nanotechnology have published their paper on a controversial theory about the sense of smell in the journal Physical Review Letters in January 2007.The paper describes a viable physical mechanism based on a vibrational theory of smell that is more akin to swipe-card recognition of odours than the traditional shape approach, based on the concept of "lock and key" or molecular docking.
